KQED Celebrates Black History Month

KQED Education Network invites educators to a special presentation of Bay Area Mosaic content celebrating Black History Month from 7:00-8:00 pm in the Boardroom. Highlighting films such as Banished and Hip Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes
6:00 - 7:00 pm- reception
7:00 - 8:00 pm- presentation in the boardroom
Keep in mind that this is not a formal workshop. Instead, the educational presentation is part of the station9s community event honoring Black History Month. The presentation will take place for an hour in the boardroom while festivities continue in the studio.
This is a free event for educators. Focus for 9th-12th grade social/studies teachers (teachers of other content areas and K-8 are encouraged to attend). Light food and drink are available, pre-registration is required as space and resources are limited. First 30 registrants will receive free DVD copies of select films with supplemental educator guides.
